Am I Too Old To Become An EMT?

The short answer is no.

We've had students from 17 to 67 year olds successfully complete our class — and most of them aren't even making a career change. They're learning these skills because they're immediately useful in everyday life.

Take this Summer 2026 cohort: we have an older gentleman who's also a physician. His church group knows he's a doctor, but he told us he's always worried that if someone actually had an emergency, he wouldn't know how to jump in. That's exactly the kind of gap this class closes.

Now, if you're thinking about this as a career — EMS work does lean toward younger bodies. There's a lot of lifting and moving, and many fire departments have age limits for new hires. But taking the class itself? It's never too late.

We love the wide range of backgrounds, ages, and experiences our students bring to the table.
