Our Story
Chicago EMT Training started in January 2022, but our story begins earlier. Vic and Marty met as undergraduates at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where they helped build one of the first student-led EMS programs on campus. When the group needed a new generation of EMTs, Marty stepped up as lead instructor — and never looked back.
Since launching Chicago EMT Training, we've trained over 2,000 students across Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters, with a 90% NREMT pass rate. Our students don't just pass a test — they graduate with real-world experience on ambulances, in emergency departments, and at major events like Lollapalooza and concerts across the city. The goal is simple: by the time you finish, you've seen enough to make an informed decision about where EMS takes you.

We are committed to being the premiere EMT training program in Chicago — and we're not done growing. Our vision is to make EMS education accessible to everyone, regardless of background or schedule. That means continuing to maintain our high NREMT pass rate, expanding opportunities for students from underserved communities across Chicago, and ensuring that anyone who wants to become an EMT has a clear path to do so.

I had a truly unforgettable experience at Chicago EMT. As someone completely new to EMS and healthcare, I was welcomed and treated like anyone else. The staff continuously reminds you that they want their students to succeed. The classroom and lectures are led by active paramedics and EMTs, including hands on practice with equipment. The clinical experiences in local hospitals and ambulances enhance the learning experience. I am grateful I chose Chicago EMT over a larger institution.

As someone who hasn't been in a school setting in years, let me tell you. This program is NOT easy. I struggled early on, as I was expecting a walk in the park. However, I am and forever will be thankful for how this class pushed me. I ended up falling in love with EMS, and because of this class, hope to start paramedic school soon. They provide all of the resources you need, but it will be up to you to utilize them. Vic and Marty were great. They did not sugar coat things, and they gave us every opportunity to be successful. Passed my NREMT in 70 questions, first try. Forever grateful for the experience!

This was such an awesome program! The two lead instructors (Victor and Marty) were amazing -- both really encouraging but also realistic about the challenges of the course. The EMT "TAs" were also extremely helpful in breaking down concepts and were super supportive throughout the entire course! I also really enjoyed the clinical experiences especially riding with Chicago Fire Department paramedics! Overall this course really helped me feel confident in both my knowledge and practical skills especially going into the NREMT which I passed on my first attempt! Could not recommend this program more!
